Black as Midnight is back with a little twist! In our continuing low abv series, we made a 3% oatmeal stout and added a balanced amount of coffee from Morning Owl Roastery. Notes of espresso, roasted malt, and chocolate with a soft mouthfeel.

500ml bottle from the brewery, pouring a murky brown colour with light copper highlights. The soapy head is fairly tall, bubbling away slowly with its light mocha-colouring and leaving some foamy patches. Aromas of roasted malts with nuttiness to balance. Coffee and chocolate hints. Even maple, toffee. Same for the flavours, but with some good bitterness from the hops, adding a nice dry finish. Espresso tart blends well with the hoppiness on the tongue. Quite a nice light stout, that still delivers lots for 3% ABV.
