This year’s winner was Ed Condon of Spring, TX. The Smoked porter is black in color, and has a pronounced smoky nose with accents of chocolate and roast malt. The mouth-feel is full with more smoky flavors giving way to chocolate and caramel. The maltiness of this beer is nicely balanced by using a moderate amount of Pacific Northwest hops. This year’s winner was Ed Condon of Spring, TX. Production began in July and hopefully will be available(kegs only I am afraid) sometime in mid to late August. Congrats Ed!
