This is the second beer in the 2005 IPA Project series of varietal IPAs. Ahtanum has the citrusy character one would expect from an American hop, but also some of the woody, tannic notes of classic British hops. 16.5 OG 100(?) IBUs

Sly Fox Ahtanum IPA - poured an orange colored body with an off white head. The taste was slightly orangey, smooth, some hops, but overall very enjoyable from start to finish.

This one was much better than the Glacier IPA. A dark orange appearance with a moderate head. Oranges rules the roost on this one. A big orange flavor. Some grapefruit present in the aftertaste. No sweetness exists at all. Not bad at all.

Poured a deep copper color with a small, off white head that left spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, lots of floral and citrus hops, light maltiness. Big grassy flavor, various citrus fruits, caramel malts, bitter grapefruit finish. Very refined, one of my favorite Sly Fox IPAs.
