Pours dark brown with a minimal white head. Smells of sweet malt and lightly spicy. Tastes earthy and tarte with some chocolatey splashes and a lightly bitter finish.

Courtesy of keifdog. Pours brown with thin tan head. The aroma has pleasing notes of molasses, some burnt malts and then fades away with little else going on. The taste has a modest level of burnt – roastiness followed by faint molasses and more roasted flavors. It stays even into the finish while picking up a nice sense of chocolate.

It pours a very very dark brown, thick, and with thin tan head and fairly copious lace. An aroma of roasted malts, coffee bean, cocoa, light hops, orange, raisin, and light spices. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Flavors of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, hops, oranges, molasses, raisin, and spiciness. Solid .. very good porter!

Bottled@Monks Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm. Very deep amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is wood, toffee, coffee and some mild notes of dark dry fruits. Flavour is wood, fruits, some coffee and mild nuttyness along with a quite roasted malty back. A bit thin.

Received this as a Christmas gift in a "Winter Brews" sampler from World Market. Pours a nice brown color with a tiny, short lived tan head. Chocolate and coffee aroma. Sweet chocolate and coffee with a touch of vanilla. Thin, but not bitter finish. Not bad. Might try again. P.S. I even used some of it in a black bean recipe tonight. Pretty good, if I say so myself.

I liked this Porter a lot. It poured a dark brown color with very little head. Very little lacing. The flavor was great. A strong malty flavor. This beer is very robust and tasty.

Good body. Good finish. Great aroma. Great color. A little too much coffee flavor, but the chocolate is just right. This beer is a bit crisp for a porter, but refreshing nonetheless.

I'm reviewing this on the tail end of a long and brutal Texas summer; definitely not the time of year for porters or stouts. Still, I had this at night, when I could at least PRETEND it was coolish outside. Deep mahogany, pleasant smoky aroma. Taste was a little thin and a bit too sweet. A pretty average representative of the style, but I wouldn't pass up a free one.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown color. Small sized beige foamy head, with minimal lacing. Aroma is chocolate and coffee with a touch of vanilla. A medium to light bodied porter. Malts are chocolate and coffee. Slightly spicy hops. Nice balance. Slightly sweet, chocolate malts. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

12 oz bottle, bottled 2nd week of September. Pours a ruby brown with a creamy light tan head that mostly diminishes and laces the glass.
The aroma is grainy vegetal malts with some chocolate and smoke and metallic notes.
The flavor is slightly sweet and lactic roasted chocolate malts and some smoke. It has a strong burnt bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium and pretty creamy.
Overall, a very fine porter - very burnt and roasted. I think this pretty underrated.
