Dark, malty, chocolaty, great hop aroma; all can be said of Six Row's Strong Porter. Strong because of the increased alcohol content, hop bitterness and aroma. The Strong Porter was brewed with authentic English malt alongside Black and Chocolate malt to add complexity. The deepness of the malt is complimented by East Kent Goldings and Fuggle hops to balance the slight sweetness typical of traditional English Porters.

Strong, smoky aroma has an undertone of semi-sweet chocolate and hints of licorice and molasses. It pours a warm dark-chocolate brown with a very thick and rather persistent tan head. Flavor has molasses, roast malt and chocolate notes plus hints of licorice and coffee and just a whisper of sweetness. Body is a bit on the thin side, but fizz is good, leaving a subtle tingly and smoky finish. A darn good, if not outstanding, porter.
