Pour a clean deep amber colour with a beige head that is smaller than average with decent retention and not much lacing. Great nose of malts, with notes of butterscotch and hop. Medium-full mouthfeel and still refreshing. Cereal malt taste with a touch of caramel and a little hop in the finish. I quite like this beer and nice to see this brewery making an altbier.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color alt with a nice large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of malt is pretty intense with caramel coming out and nice toffee notes. Taste is characterized by loads of caramel malt with notes of toffee – very good balance between a session beer and a more extreme version of an original German Alt. Body is fuller then most example of the style with good carbonation and no signs of alcohol. Well done.
