Sierra Nevada Communications Coordinator, Bill Manley, announced that Bonnaroo Brew, an American farmhouse ale, is being made for the Bonnaroo Music Festival. “We are a sponsor of the Bonnaroo festival and we are making a beer for the fest,” said Manley. “An American farmhouse ale, this beer is light, blonde, super dry and easy-drinking. It is made with a blend of saison yeast and our house Chico strain – perfect for a hot Tennessee summer day.”

Very grateful to Lou for allowing me to try this beer with him and the other BPers. When I first heard of this brew coming out from Sierra Nevada, I wanted to try it immediately. Thinking I probably wouldn't get a chance was a bit of a bummer for me. I went to my first Bonnaroo in 2004, a young, spry 20 year old who ended up having one of the most psychedelic experiences of my life. Bonnaroo truly was a life changing experience for me.I went 2 more years after that and collectively through those 3 years, I've seen some of the greatest bands in the world play some of the best shows they've ever played. I'll probably never go back, but Manchester,TN will always have a big part of my heart. Oh yeah, and the beer....Fantastic! Read Kinger and Lou's reviews if you really want to know about it.

Growler opened by bluesandbarbq to commemorate the start of Blues, BBQ & Beer Hootenanny 2011. A more than welcoming beginning to an amazing weekend, and a refreshing beverage after a 500 mile drive. The aroma immediately grabbed my attention and offered a wonderful flowery bouquet with a splash of subtle spice. Cloudy orange yellow body with a filmy white head and spots of lacing. Soft and quenching with an easiness that beckoned for much deserved relaxation. Yeasty taste with a pale malt base allowing the floral and spice qualities to really pull through.

Growler of this special Tennessee/Bonnaroo beer from Bearden Beer Market. Nearly clear light golden pour with a well-sustained white fluffy head and large chunky lacing. Nice yeasty/Belgo aroma, some floral and spices, lightly funky. Taste is very refreshing with a nice funky/yeasty mouthfeel and early flavor followed with a bit of floral hops, very lightly bittered, and some spices and citrus along with some other fruits. Wow! Very nice Saison - very well done Sierra Nevada - glad you made this one! Super summer brew and extremely refreshing.
