thank goodness for meticulous notetaking, i hardly remember this .. . pours a deep brown .. light foam, sturdy lacing .. . dark malt, crunchy chocolate, dark decaf espresso .. . slick stuff .. . As I bit into the nectarine, it had a crisp juiciness about it that was very pleasurable - until I realized it wasn’t a nectarine at all, but A HUMAN HEAD!

just above average in just about everything that counts. a nice dry irish with lots of roasted malts, but nothing special, and of course, a tad thin. a decent beer, but not one i’ll return to.

Pours an oily sable with a fairly thick tan head, good for a stout. Aroma is strong and smoky with an undertone of sweet chocolate. Flavor is smoky and malty with an undertone of chocolate and a hint of coffee. Texture is smooth, slightly grainy and fairly tingly - it does not sit still! Satisfying.

Surprisingly delicious stout, Shipyard finally nailed one. Sweet and roasty aroma with plenty of chocolate, coffee and nuts. Midnight brown body, lingering head and streaky lacing. Medium bodied, tangy sweetness and mild bitterness. Big roasty stout with burnt toast, milk chocolate and cold coffee flavors.

I like the new label better than the old one.....picture of a Marlin or Tuna on the front. This was my favorite of the Shipyards that I sampled so far. Lots of chocolate, decent amount of coffee, nicely hopped. This almost reminds me of a porter. I would buy the variety pack again just for this beer, as I haven't seen it in 6-packs yet. I wouldn't say this is one of my favorite stouts, but for just over $1 a beer, I'd say for the price really can't be beat.

A nice deep color and full nose begin this brew experience. As you drink, the flavor deepens with strong dry coffee notes. Not too complex. The mouthfeel is a little watery, but doesn't detract from the overall enjoyment of a great beer.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry coffee with not much else in term of discernable characteristics. Taste is also very dry with some coffee notes and limited roasted malt notes appearance. Body is about average with goo carbonation. I thought that overall this was too dry which limited the drinkability factor.

I had some good beers from Shipyard. This one is a good representation of a stout. It pours as expected, ebony. The ran head maintains a decent retention on pour. The carbonation is very goof adding well to the mouthfeel. There is a yeasty aroma. The flavor is roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. It is creamy as it passes on down.

The aroma is nice and malty with some sweet and maybe some slight chocolate bitter with some cocoa with even some very slight hops. The appearance is very nice and a jet black in color but a very wonderful dark, rick amber to burgundy in color when held to the light with a very nice head on top that is huge and light-tan in color and remains and leaves good lacing. The mouthfeel is full and robust with very nice coffee and malt complexity balanced well with hops with a smooth palate. The flavor is robust and coffee bean-like with nice chocolate-cocoa as well with some nice hoppy bitter also with a nice and smooth finish. Overall, this is a good porter with full flavor, I like this very much.""

Pitch black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma of candy sugar chocolate and coffee. Flavour is quite the same but very sourish. Watery palate. Third or fourth Shipyard for me, so far they have not impressed me at all...
