A few centuries ago, during the cold winter months, farmhands in Europe brewed a ‘seasonal provision’ Farmhouse Ale to be enjoyed once spring rolled around. In the farmlands of Shiner, TX that tradition lives on which is why our tribute to this style uses Golding, Sterling and Meridian hops for a sweet yet lightly spiced flavor. Our incredibly refreshing farmhouse ale bears the name of the farm to market road just to the south of where our brewery has proudly stood for over 100 years

Malty aroma has a sharp, fruity and slightly yeasty overtone. Pours a nice clear yellow with a thick but not persistent ivory head. Flavor is crisp and malty, subtly fruity and yeasty, not strong. Texture has average fizz and viscosity, though the tingle does persist a little. So-so overall, but fine for sipping on a hot day or while watching a ball game.

Opaque yellow without any foam. Barley aroma and small spicy taste, some pepper. for the rest not a very nice tasting beer. Making saison beer is difficult. (Houston 201408)

Very light hazed straw gold color, medium head, some lacing. Lightly spicy aroma and initial taste, floral, very light funkiness, wheat. Refreshing and not hateful. Easy to drink just not stellar.

What the hell?! Maybe I've been spoiled lately, with a plethora of awesome saisons, but damn this is just weak. When non-offensive is the first thing that comes to mind, I am underwhelmed. Light rustic farmhouse aroma with some light fruit. The flavor, after a thin body, is quite boring, with an utter lack of farmhouse character and just a bit of light fruit, generic sweetness, and a listy dustiness. Booooring.

pours a nice golden color with a nice white small head, while the lacing is a bit thin while the head flees rather quickly. The aroma is bubblegum, rasberries, grass, coriander, and maybe even a hint of ginger here. The taste has some grassy notes that come through strong, and it has a nice, bitter finish the complements the hops nicely and not too much malt presence. The mouthfeel is light bodied but very carbonated, this brew will indeed be great come spring.

This is a weak, watered down interpretation of a saison. Clear gold pour with a quickly dissipating white head. Wheat, cloves and some funky spice in the aroma. Flavors of mild fruit, clove and funk. There are so many other, better saisons out there.

This was a poor imitation. Golden colored body. A two finger fluffy textured white head that rises briefly above. It settles into a moderate tinglet. I get a really funky-weird aroma. The taste is some spice and wheat. The body is watered down, watering down the flavors.

Clear mid yellow body, sporadic slow moving bubbles go up to a thin ringed cap, that leaves the ocasional spot of lace. Aromas are a bit muted but nice, Wheat, a bit of funk, spices, some citrus as well, not too shabby. Mouthfeel is thin but crisp. Flavor falls off from the aroma a bit, mostly wheat with some lemon coming through, spices are barley noticeable, as is the funk. Overall its not bad, just a bit bland in the flavor department.
