Pours a dark, barely translucent sepia with a fairly thick light tan head. Robust aroma has a malty, slightly smoky core and firm notes of cloves and caramel. Malty flavor delights with caramel, cloves and subtle woody hop notes plus more than a hint of fruit - apple, plus a little cherry. Smooth texture has only a little fizz and is fair in firmness. Scuttlebutt has it that this will keep you warm - but seriously.

dunkel on here...dunkelweizen on RB...i can't see either. smells like your typical english strong/winter warmer type beer. dark fruits, and roasted malt. flavor goes south...alarmingly astringent, bordering on sour, and not the good kind of sour. I can't get over the palate and flavor on this one. RB raters have commented on it regularly but don't seem to mind as much as i do, but i didn't dig it.

More like a cross of a dunkel, porter, and winter-warmer. On the sweeter side. Dark brown to light black appearance. Decent aroma of some sweet and sour fruits. Liking their porter better, but not bad for a winter seasonal. Grew on me towards the end of the 6-pack. Not quite sure will get again though with so many others to try.

A muddy mahogany-brown colored beer. A thin, soapy textured, light beige head rises briefly above the body. There's no hang time on this one. It settles into a thick, soapy ringlet atop the body. Roasted, sugary malt nose. The body is light-medium with moderate carbonation. Nice smoothness on the palate. A light coffee, mocha flavoring. I like this one!

Expected more. Flavor is good but it's missing everything you'd hope would be there to back it up. For example it is very thin and watery where I would expect abit more chewiness based on style and flavor.

It's black and I can't see through it! Two fingers' worth of frothy tan head, but gone oh so quickly. Aroma was mild, too mild really, and was perhaps of some malt and maybe dark plum? Taste was rather different than what the nose suggested, some dark chocolate and burnt coffee; reminded me of a porter. Mouth and finish were okay. Not a remarkable beer, but drinkable.
