What we have in Original No.1 is a natrub (unfiltered) lager that is just a damn gutt bier period. It is called museumbier, as the recipe has been in the area for centuries, and very much unlike the every day great lagers of the area. Yea, I know lager was supposed to have been invented or at least made popular in the 1800s, but take it from the locals, those bottom fermenting strains have always been around and this is one area they were. No1 is a great everyday bier, low alc. high in flavor, perfect for würst and grillen. !2 Euro for 20 .5 liters, great buy as well as great bier.

500 ml swing-top bottle. Poured in a Bavarian Seidla an unfiltered and hazy golden-yellow coloured Lager with a generous one finger and almost white, fine and dense foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Active carbonation. Good lacing. A lot of floating sediments. The aroma is moderate malty, straw, faint grassy hops, bready tones. The flavour is moderate malty, fruity, grainy apples and a sourish touch. The mouthfeel is round, thin and light bitter. The texture is watery. This light bodied Lager has a dry light hoppy bitter finish. Not really exiting, however nothing false, this brew is , for me, clearly more a Kellerbier or Landbier as a simply Lager.

Clear light yellow with small white foam ring. Aroma is typical German light pilsener, so is taste. Quite refreshing. Aftertaste is long lating, fresh in mouth. OK beer. (Velp 201306)
