Not my favorite type of beer but not bad. Clear brown pour,thin head gone in a flash and not a spot of lacing. Light caramel aroma. Nice flavour of caramel malt and a bit hops in the finish. Done

First review!! Unfortunately do not have a nose for this unless the smell is in your face! :) This one pours a foamy, bubbly head. Poured in glass, has a see-through brownish/red hue. Goes down smooth, and kinda warms your throat on the way down. Not too much aftertaste, a little bit of toffee I get. Might try again. Reviews to improve with experience. HA

Pale dark brown with hints of orange and a thin skiff floating on top, big whoop am I right? Aroma is sweet and sugary, dark apple, mild coffee, other stuff. The aroma seems correct for the style just not that appealing. Taste is the same but instead of sweet I’ll say it very over the top sweet, and the flavor is way lighter than expected. Do to the lack of substance I find this doppelbock is very easy to drink that is until you fall into a sugar induced coma. More apple, more coffee, more candy sugar. Can I be done with this beer yet?

Bottled@Tuulensuu, Tampere. Deep amber colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel malts, allround big maltyness and some redwineish notes. Flavor is caramel malts raisins and wood. Rather sweet.

This beer pours a deep dark ruby colour, and when held to the light, it is somewhat clear. The aroma is roasted sweet malt, licorice, and raisins. The flavour is quite sweet (which seems to be the norm for Schloss Eggenberg) but still quite drinkable.

pours a dark cherry with a medium size off white head. aromas is decent. oak barrel ,caramel, grapes, and slight hop smell. taste is very mellow with smooth aftertaste. oak , sweet malt, slight citrus hop flavor and some kinda of iron metallic flavor. overall a very smooth drinkable beer. alcohol is very hidden.

A red quartz colored body. The frothy off white is impressively large. The hang time was disappointing. It settled into a decent soapy lacing. Mild aromas of fruit and malt. The body is impressively creamy and full. There’s malt, of course, with a hint of roasting and chocolate flavors flavors and a hint of. All in all I liked this beer.

Bottle: Poured a clear deep burgundy color bock with a large creamy off-white head with great retention and good lacing. Aroma of creamy banana bread with light toffee notes. Taste is a great mix between some banana bread and caramel and toffee notes. Body is a bit thin or the style with great carbonation but alcohol is bit too hot. Very well done overall but some less apparent alcohol would have been even better.

Ha, ha... written malt liquor on the front label. Doppelbock sounds better (like classier). Best before date on back label reads 02.2010. Pours a clear brown-red colour with a huge foamy-cream beige head, great retention and pretty spacey lacing. Lots of carbonation, composed of tiny bubbles. The nose is a mix of roasted malts and rusty hops. After a while, the alcohol and grain malts comes out in the aromas. No burning in the mouth at all, pretty smooth mouthfeel for such a high alcohol content. Has that rusty taste (from the hop mentioned) and gives a bitter finish. The aftertaste has some caramel malt and mild coffee. Not a bad brew to get you warm, in this cold winter season.

not crazy about the style, although i like them both seperately, but i gotta say, this was an unexpectedly unique beer. Obviously way heavier on the malt, but it's pretty pleasant if not great.
