Light amber in color, this medium-bodied ale is highly hopped in both aroma and bitterness, with the maltiness still quite apparent.

Pours a clear deep gold-hued body with a sudsy, white head and nice lacing. The aroma was slightly sweet scented pale malts with only modest notes of citrus and florals. A fairly mild aroma all around. The taste was modest pale malted barley upfront, a light touch of caramel and golden syrup for sweetness with hint of lemon, floral hops, also some slender orange accents and with no more than a medium bitterness. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation and smooth.

Everything I like in an IPA... well-balanced with a medium to deep coppery color with a two-finger head. Floral and piney in a nice proportion with a hint of the malt on the front. Slightly bitter at the back. Nice crisp finish.

Pint sampled at the BottleWorks brewpub. Poured a deep orange color with nk away, some thin rings of lace left on the glass. Aroma of floral hops. Good malt and caramel flavors with a nice mix of citrusy hops to balance. Medium bodied, refreshing aftertaste. Overall, a decent IPA, just the flavor profile I was looking for.

Pours a beautiful copper with tight, creamy head; impressive lacing. The aroma boasts grapefruit and apricot notes with peppery accent. Flavor is, of course, hoppy, but not over-the-top. There's ample malt present in the base flavor and it's delicious overall. Medium-bodied with medium-to-strong carbonation.

Sampled on draft at Patton Alley Pub, MO. Pours copper-gold with an adequate head and nice lacing. Its aroma is quite hoppy (grapefruit/pine) and rich fruit. Bitterness lingers. Bready, honey malt profile with a good dose of flavor hops and pepper spice. Smooth and medium-bodied.

05 Hop in the City/KC. Everything seems to be at the low end of the style. Notes of oranges and tangerines. Sweet malt. Clear with a white head Light on the hops. This would serve well as an APA.

This is not the IPA that I'm used to, but still quite good. Fruity and not so piney and with more pronounced malt that most IPAs. The mouthfeel was thicker that other IPAs. RERATE: This year's seems more agressively hopped with a still toasty maltiness backing, a turn for the better, especially on cask.
