—Inspiration : By now you've made the connection that Terrapin Beer Co. is located in Athens, GA, home to the University of Georgia. Likewise, Saw Works Brewing Co. is located in Knoxville, TN, home to the University of Tennessee and the hallowed Neyland Stadium. In spite of this SEC rivalry—and in spite of the larger brewhaha between the two states over the disputed border in Chattanooga—these two breweries will co-brew a batch of fine ale in celebration of comradery and football. —Brew Date : August 21, 2013 at Saw Works Brewing Co. photos —Availability : East Tennessee starting October 1st, 2013 until it's gone —Style : Amber IPA (5.8% ABV) —Notes : Medium amber to mahogany color; Piney, mango nose; Sweet, fruity up front with a toasty bread crust and bitter hops finish. Growler of this well-received collaboration. Shared with @d3atlanta. Beautiful copper pour, nice white head with copious amounts of lacing. Nice hops presence in the nose and palate: light pine, peaches and grapefruits, then ample sweetness from malts to offset the bitterness. Nice bitter linger. More of an English IPA than a West Coast variety. Worthy.
