Nov. 2009 - Bottle donated to the cause by eaglefan538...and it’s good that he did because I seemed to enjoy this much more than he did. Pour was dark with thick foamy head. A wonderful roasty/chocolate aroma. The flavor contained rich roasted malts with some sweet boozy chocolate. Well balanced and no off flavors. I thought this was quite delicious.

Bottles from bockyhorsey and CaptainCougar I think. Pour was dark black, decent initial dark tannish colored head, mediocre lacing. The aroma was chocolate, dark fruits, some long chain alcohol/fusel notes. The flavor followed, milky chocolate, vinous notes, all accented by a lively carbonation that made this beer pretty decent. Roast was quite light as was the hopping. Decent stuff, but pretty straight forward. Thanks, Bill and Tom!

This poured a dark brown to black appearance with a beige head. This one was very roasty with lots of coffee and some chocolate in the aroma. The flavor contains the same with a hint of dark fruit. The finish is rather bitter. Overall this was a nice porter.

Pours a ruby-tinged opaque chocolate brown, with a substantial but short-lived brown head with little lacing. Light aroma, just faint roasted malt and a little chocolate. Mouthfeel is a little thin for a beer that promises to be this big. First taste is tannic; eventually balances out with some coffee and chocolate flavors. Finish is dry and still somewhat astringent - it never really mellows out.
