Sample from bottle at Vectura-messe, as Red Horse Beer. ABV is 8%. Brewed for San Miguel in Hong Kong. Clear golden colour. Awful aroma. Bad flavour too, drainpour. The only reason to drink this is if you are an alcoholic living on the street in Hong Kong in a cardboard box.

That’s right, Red Horse baby!! Ya!! Pours clear gold with thin white head. The aroma is pretty strong with sweet sugary malts, some spice hops, some cereal and some off notes that are, well off. The high level of carbonation explodes with sweet white table sugar malts, mild spice hops mixed with some malt staleness sometimes found in organic beers. Being the label states “World Class Premium Malt Liquor” the score must suffer since it just doesn’t taste good. Who are they fooling with this World Class Premium nonsense?

Orange with a white head that doesn’t last. Very fizzy. Aroma of sugar, some hay, vague herbs. Medium body, not as carbonated as it looks. Really sweet, overtly sugary, some hay, vague citrus and herbs, low bitterness. Some stewed fruit. Sweet all the way through.

Aroma is crisp and malty, rather strong, nothing to Tweet about but still promising. It pours a clear straw yellow with a fluffy and not very persistent white head, about what one expects from beer of this type. Flavor is - well, there is a hint of malt, but not much to it. Texture is smooth and fairly fizzy, but body is below average. Well, the Philippines are not renowned for beer. Maybe we should send some craft brewers over there - or some Trappist monks. ;)

A murky yellow-orange. This is a bad start. The soapy white head is big enough. But no hang time. A thin ringlet is all that is left. Barely discernable nose of malt. More efferbescence makes it seem like a carbonated water. Really watered down malt.

I really need to get a phone that has internet access. I had no idea what style of beer this was until popping open the bottle. Once the creamed corn aroma hit me, I figured some kind of Euro lager or malt liqour. Luckily it wasn’t expensive, nor horribly awful. Corn aroma, white grape juice, alcohol and more corn. Flavor has some incredible sweetness still left behind and it really reminded me of drinking creamed corn. Creamed corn, some hay and alcohol. I guess in the Phiippines it’s this or San Miguel. Heckuva selection.

Review from 2006
More crap from the International Box of Unsold Beers from Around the World...
Poured out a gold beer with some white foam... The smell was ok at best, very grainy, malts, not overly sweet. The taste was of grain, fake apples, muck. A bit on the syrupy side, some bitterness in the after taste. It's crap but could be much much worse. -

everyone else who commented on this beer either hasnt tried red horse form the Philippines or is used to really light beer, like keiths or molson, bud, heini,, all that stuff is waaaay too light compared to red horse, so when they taste it their taste buds cant handle, its like getting used to water than drink vodka, u will never like it at first.. but of course thats an exaggeration, but you get the point.. this is the best beer ive ever tasted,. id drink this any time of day.. either empty or full stomach

the one i got was the brewed in thailand. 6% abv. my friend from the philippines was telling me how good this beer is. i got it from the supermarket and it tasted like skunk. no flavor or whatsoever. i guess the filipino version is better. have yet to try it though.
