The combination of tangy citrus sweetness and a hint of peppery spice enliven the crisp wheat character of this hazy white ale for a refreshing and satisfying brew. We brewed our hazy golden ale with tangerine and orange peel to bring out sweet, tangy flavors, and we pair these citrus notes with coriander and Grains of Paradise for added layers of complexity and peppery spice. The resulting brew is reminiscent of the original Belgian white ales, with medium body and slightly sweet notes followed by a crisp finish and a slight lingering spiciness.

I tried this one from a make your own pack store. A very light and yellow, spritzy tasting beer.Had a medium feel in the body, very quenchig summer time type beer. This beer is in line with most of the boston brewing companies offerings i have had.

Sampled on 4/20/13. This Belgian Witbier pours a somewhat cloudy medium orange color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is fruity, wheaty and sweet, with tangerine, orange and coriander. A medium bodied Witbier. The malts are wheaty, fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy and spicy. Fairly lively carbonation. Nice balance of flavors, spicy, fruity and sweet. It’s a little sweet overall, but the spices somewhat counter act the sweetness, especially the pepper at the finish. It would make a nice summer session ale on a hot summer afternoon. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Part of their Spring Thaw 2013 mixed pack bought in Montpelier, VT. Hazy golden colour with a warm cap and small lace. Orange and light spices aromas. Even hints of maple. Refreshing mouthfeel. Orange taste with some mild coriander. Grain comes out in the aftertaste with honey notes. A different witbier that is interesting.

Strong, malty aroma has a robust fruity overtone, mainly banana with some apple and pear, and yeasty and hoppy underpinnings. Pours a bright, slightly hazy solar yellow with a nice fluffy white head. Flavor does not quite live up to the aroma, but is still acceptable - fruity, malty, a little hoppy, hints of citrus and coriander. Mouthfeel is average in the body and fizz department. If not outstanding, still a decent and enjoyable brew.

Not bad. I think the grains of paradise make this juuuuust a bit better than average. otherwise, why another wit? nothing to get excited about, but reasonably crisp, clean and refreshing...

A cloudy golden colored body with a three finger foamy texted. white head rising briefly above. Settles into a thin ringlet and light foggy film rising low above the ringlet. Coriander spicy, banana fruity nose. Same in taste, adding a sweet citrus. Low bodied. Not that bad.

Fresh medley of citrus, berries, coriander, and garden herbs. Hazy yellow body with a frothy white head and ample lacing. Zesty, clean and refreshing. Light in body, but heavy in aroma and flavor. Very enjoyable Witbier.

Pours a slightly hazy, pale golden orange color and a one finger off-white head that immediately settles into a thin ring. Spotty lacing left behind.Sweet, slightly spicy aroma with coriander, banana and bready yeast. Medium bodied with a wheat/bready yeast flavor. Very easy to drink but could use more spice and citrus flavor.

I found this be like a mix of the white ale, white christmas, and summer ale. Decent and drinkable, just not a wit that I would tend to choose. I was hoping that it would be better than Blue Moon, but I would probably go with that over this one. Just too similiar to their other seasonals in this style. This Spring '13 variety pack not really doing it for me.

Remarkably similar in every respect to Summer Ale... same spice(s) - that "Grain of Paradise" or whatever along with the citrus. I don't get it. Not a heteful beer, but too much like several others with no "winter" characteristics that I would expect from the winter sampler. Disappointed.
