Dark brown color with light brown foam head, lacing to glass. Pitty it was served too cold. Aroma is coffee, with some nut tones. Taste is bitter coffee and nice velvet feeling. Somewhat short aftertaste. (Houston 201301)

Better than swill, but not that great of a stout. Colour is more medium brown than dark. Aroma has weak chocolate and coffee hints. Flavour is watery with hints of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. Not a top end stout.

Last of the Saint Arnold beers sent by Suds: Deep mahogany brown pour with no head or lacing. Rich cocoa aroma initially with a hint of coffee and cream and very light hops. Rich and creamy cocoa taste with a smidgen of espresso then a touch of earthy hops. Nice coffee-like bitter linger. Very flavorful stout - thank you Mr. Suds McDuff for another winner.

S.A winter stout pours a deep black body, the thin tan head doesnt leave much lace. Aroma of toasted malt and earth. Flavor is sweet which rapidly fades into earth, finishes with a slight expresso / chocolate flavor. A bit on the watery side though. Overall a little light for a true winter stout, but hey this is Texas and it doesnt get that cold so a lighter brew works.

Next to the Samuel Smith Otmeal Stout this is great. Definitely the second best stout that I have had. Pours almost black with a brown head that goes away pretty quickly. Tastes of dark chocolate/coffee and spice. Has a very roasty taste that definitly fits the winter season.

Sampled from bottle. Pours a clear, dark blackened-ruby with a thin, scattered tan head. Aroma is like a semi-sweet dark chocolate. Very rich and subtle. Flavor is pleasantly bitter with chocolate and roasted malts and piney hops. Medium to full-bodied and very smooth. Clean, dry finish for the style. Incredible beer for the price.

Pours black with minimal head. Smells like dark chocolate and espresso. Tastes about the same except there is piney-hops in the bittersweet finish. Satisfying: full-bodied and smooth.

A very solid brew right outta Houston,TEXAS ; It is a dark almost black hue that smells delish, and the taste is hard to pinpoint but is damn good, one of the best texan beers!
