This beer is black as coffee and slightly less strong than our Amber at 5.0% alc. Surprisingly soft on the palate, this rich dark ale goes down like silk. Chocolate and Black Patent malts provide a roasted palate which is balanced by careful hopping to create a very quaffable beer.

Pours a deep brown with no head at all! Semi-transparent, you can see a little light through it. Aroma is strong of coffee and chocolate. Taste is non existent other than a hint of coffee at the first sip. Very watered down. Not much else to say but this is a pitiful beer.

On tap at the Old Fashioned: Poured a thick black colour with a small tan head. Aroma is nutty with alcohol and coffee notes. Taste is what threw me off on this one. It was noticeably metallicy from start to finish. Decent roasted malt character gives this brew a firm mouthfeel, at the same time being silky and very nutty. The metallic flavour of this brew is what really turned me off.
