Jever you are quite the annoying beer nerd, Basic American Lager just like all the rest plain and simple. I enjoyed you musings on the Huber lines as well, what a knob. My first memories of this beer were from when I was a very little kid and my uncle bitching at Xmas time that my dad bought that damn cheap Rhinelander Beer, just good to know that in my adulthood that it is still around, my wife loves the stuff as well.

Pours a light golden color. Smell is of malts, some grains. Taste is the same, malts, corn, some grains. Feels light and carbonated in the mouth and overall is your standard pale lager.

Once in a while I'll grab a couple of the shorties at Mickey's or the Alchemy if I'm just in one of those swillin' moods. Pale golden, nada mucho por explanar. Clear, fizzy and malt. Corn presence and little hop flavors.

Not as horrible as a lot of the small time swill beers out there. The really good thing about this beer is the price and the fact that you get a deposit back when you return the case...on second thought, I don't even know if they make this anymore...

Maybe the 12 pack I bought for 3.99 at Liquor Barn was sitting around the warehouse too long but this stuff was a "sink pour". Metalic taste and an almost winelike aroma. You shouldn't taste adjuncts in a low alcohol beer, but that and metal were the dominant tastes. I got what I paid for - a lousy beer that I can't even give away.

Poured a typical gold color with a short head, no lacing and light carbonation. Aroma-a little malty, a little grainy, a little hoppy. A good light bodied with a dryish malty flavor and a fair amount of hoppiness but it wasn't at all bitter. Short clean finish. A solid pale lager at a great price. Been out of production for a while but it's back now.
