http://redhook.com/beers/backyard-series/ Pumpkin Porter is dark chestnut brown in color. Made with pureed pumpkin in the mash, along with light chocolate, Munich, and caramel malts, roasted wheat, oats, and locally malted barley. Cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger are added to the whirlpool and maple syrup is added during fermentation. Blended with a light hopping of Northern Brewer, this makes a full bodied, rich roasty porter, with flavors that make you want to eat turkey and watch football or build a bonfire.

Pours a rich, opaque dark chocolate brown with a fine-bubbled tan head. Aroma has notes of chocolate, roast malt, pumpkin, and quality coffee. Flavor does not disappoint, providing nice coffee, chocolate and spiced pumpkin notes with a smoky hint. Texture is firm, smooth and rather fizzy. Porter that pumpkin, and happy wherever holiday you celebrate!

2013 relabeled Out Of Your Gourd. Not bad, especially as I am not a huge Redhook fan...but I bought this as the premise of a pumpkin porter is a good one. Chocolately aroma and flavor. Slightly thinner feel than expected, light spices and pumpkin as well on the nose and flavor. Very lite ginger. Overall not bad, but likely a one timer.

Pour is nearly black with a medium tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, roasted malts, spices and faint pumpkin. Taste is very similar--plenty of roast with the pumpkin pie showing up right at the end. Nice fall beer that doesn't go overboard with the spice additions.
