http://ploughsharebrewing.com/suds.html Bumper Crop is an expression for an unexpectedly large crop or harvest. Coincidentally, the word ‘bumper’ comes from the 17th-century term for a large glass of beer that was filled to the brim. Belgian farmhouse ales were brewed during the cooler months, then supplied to farm workers during the summer and fall farming season. With the same tradition in mind, we brew ours in the spring and hold it back until July. It is a dry, hoppy thirst quencher underlying a rocky white head. Crafted entirely of certified organic German pilsner and Vienna malts, organic sorghum syrup, and organic hops from Oregon and New Zealand, we cajole the finicky saison yeast to portray intense fruit and spice in a dry, food-friendly palate. Are there secret ingredients? We won’t say, but if there are, they are most certainly organic.
