Similar to the Wipeout IPA brewed in Carlsbad. This is the original San Diego IPA. We have been brewing this beer since we installed the brewery in 1992. Big and Bitter like the Wipeout. A true beer lovers beer.

A big thanks to Slowrunner77 for this gem. What a nice beer. The hops were grapefruity and citrus driven. Malt takes a backseat to the hops in this beer. Color is orangish in hue. Wonderful beer. MANY THANKS!

so m any good Port IPAs they start to get muddled. This was very good as well, but didn;t stand out much in a crowded field. Big oine and bitter, with some orange and grapefruit. Good. not quite great.

From a bottle. Pours a hazy golden copper with a huge off-white head. Aroma is citrusy and hoppy. Flavor is well balanced, and surprisingly mild. Huge hop aftertaste though, which I enjoyed. Thanks to Doncock for getting this bottle for me.

I'm not at all proud to say that I'm not as much of an expert on the Pizza Port line of beers as I would like to be. But if there is one beer of their's that I know ... and know that I love, it's the good ol' Swami's IPA.
This has always reminded me of a cross between Stone IPA, and Centennial-driven IPA's, like Ballast Point's Big Eye IPA or Bell's Two Hearted Ale. A excellent balancing act going on here, with the hop character and bitterness taking the lead, but definately not leaving behind the malt bill. A well-rounded IPA, vice many others that seem to be nothing more than one-man shows (i.e. hops, hops, and more hops!).
Quite drinkable and satisfying. An IPA I take for granted whenever I'm at one of three Pizza port locations (since there always seems to be other/more obscure beers being poured at the same time), but a beer that I really should sit down and enjoy more often. Recommended.

Orange gold color. Medium head. Aroma is fruity and very floral. A full bodied IPA. Malts are sweet and fruity. Hops are grapefruity and floral. Nicely balanced. A big, juicy, hoppy IPA.Finishes very well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth and a touch dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Aight, this is just straight hop water, hard to pick anyother tastes out of it when its so heavily dominated. But hopwater is cool every now and then.

Poured an amber color with nice white head and lacing as well. Bitter hop, piny, resiny taste with a sticky but full mouthfeel. This could easily pass for an IIPA.
