I don't claim to have a keen sense of smell, but this... This... Well, basically it smells like a dirty, wet sock. Fortunately it tastes better than it smells. Very noticeable hazelnut flavor, really nutty, and not as rich as I had hoped. Someone should make a nutella brown ale. Or a chocolate hazelnut brown ale. Pretty distinct flavor, easy enough to drink, but I can't really overcome the aroma. My friend just walked in the room and said "this beer smells like a$$!". We decided that the smell must be the 'dirty' in the title. But who would buy a beer more appropriately called 'dirty laundry'? Or the tagline 'smells like a$$, tastes like nuts'...?

My first experience with hazelnuts and beer, and I rather liked it. Swell, cool label. It certainly does pour brown! The head was off-white in colour, and rather short-lived. Aroma was seriously nutty. Taste was nutty/spicy, and damned enjoyable. Mouthfeel and aftertaste was very comfortable. More, please.
