This Quadrupel is brewed with 6 different types of malts. We used nitrogen instead of CO2 for a better result. Nitrogen causes a rounder taste and a better mouthfeel.

330ml brown bottle from the LCBO. I do not see a nitro ball in the bottle, so no explosions. Pours dark brown colour with copper-ruby highlights, a small mocha-coloured head that seems to stay on top, looking like a Nespresso. Lots of dark fruits in the aroma, but mostly raisins take over. Hints of wheat with banana notes. The mouthfeel is definitely smooth, silky with some dryness in the finish. Dark fruits, roasted malts and hops for flavours. This Quad does goes down very nicely. Dangerous !

330ml bottle from LCBO. With the recommended nitro pour, as displayed on side of bottle, actually poured a nice tan, thick and creamy looking head as a result of the excessive carbonation. Has a deep dark brown appearance. Decent dirty lace. Aromas of roasted malt, dried fruits, resiny and herbal hops. Flavours are mixture of dark roasted malt, raisins and plums, some subtle notes of chocolate and a bit of coffee as well. Full bodied. Slick but fizzy like mouthfeel. Dry finish. At 10.5%abv, pretty easy going and not overly strong.

The beer pours a translucent dark brown colour with a creamy tan coloured cap. The aroma is dark malt, candy sugar, yeast, grains, and dark fruit. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, above average carbonation, and warming. The flavour is dark fruit, molasses, roasted malt, yeast, and candy sugar. The alcohol warms the throat and stomach. It’s good, but not great.

Pours rich coffee sable with a thick and fairly persistent dark tan head. Aroma hits the nose with roast malt, molasses, licorice, earthy, and subtle mocha tones. Flavor presents a deluge of pleasing tones: roast malt, licorice, molasses, chocolate, plus subtle earthy and quality coffee tones. Silky-smooth texture features firm body and peppy fizz. From a bottle, but sill feels as though it came right off a nitro tap.
