June 2016: 330 ml unlabelled bottle at Mikkeller Bar, Aarhus. Brown color, large white head. Aroma and flavour very much like the ordinary Orval, with "farmhouse" and "spicy" notes, distinct hops. It is quite impressive that so much flavour can be put into a beer of this moderate ABV.

Opaque golden orange yellow with thick lasting, lacing off-white foam head. Aroma is mixture of hop and sweet fruity tones. Taste is perfect, understand why the monks want this for themselves. Bitter, but not too much. Very nice beer. (L’Ange Gardien 201404)

Bottle: Poured a dirty beige color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light barnyard notes with dry hops and some light tart notes also noticeable. Taste is also a very nice mix between some barnyard notes with some tart notes and a dry lightly hoppy finish. Body is more watery then the regular version with great carbonation. Still very much good though I can feel that this is a watered down version of the original.

Bottled. Hazy orange coloured, mediumsized head. Orange and lemon in aroma along with wheaty hints. Flavour is weaker than normal Orval, kind of "Orval mixed with water".

Bottled. Red-orange colour with a fine head and a marvellous lace, the aroma is typically Orval: citrusy, spicy, hoppy nose with notes of caramel; smooth, thin body with only a light bitterness, short watery finish - a watered-down version of the Great Orval - a big thank you to Nicolas Jeckelman for this rare stuff

Similar to the Chimay Doree, this is similar to a Orval Light. No label on the bottle. Cloudy orange color with a smallish head. Aroma is herbal and hoppy. Taste is thin (expected), light toast and mild malt. Another beer I could sit and drink for a day or two, non-stop.

Poured an orange golden color with a medium sized white head and left light lacing on the glass. Sweet, light buttery, and spiced aroma. Taste was light, dry, and straw. Wet mouthfeel.
