Paulaner Weissbier kristallklar tastes more strongly of wheat malt than Hefe-Weissbier naturtrüb. It gets its fine, sparkling clarity from a very special gentle filtering process.

Clear (surprise) golden yellow with white foam head, lasting and lacing. Aroma is a weizen citrus aroma, similar to taste. Refreshing aftertaste with some hints of orange and coriander. (Velp 201212)

Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized white creamy head. Aroma is wheat, malts and some mild hops. Also mild spicyness. Flavour is wheat, spices, some mild banana and a bit grassyness.

500 ml bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 5.2%. Pale yellow colour, crystal clear like the name says. Large to moderate head. Typical weissbier aroma, fruity with bananas and cloves, but the the aroma is not as strong as you’ll get from a hefe-w. Crisp and spritzy mouthfeel. Moderate cloves and tolerable hops in the flavour, but boring compared to the hefe. Why filter away the goodies? Short aftertaste.

Bottle. Clear golden colour with large white head. Cloves, banana and wheat in the nose. Similar for the taste. Nothing special, but pretty decent and drinkable.
