Another fine wheat with nice carbonation levels and zesty wheat flavour.

Not up to par with the regular hefe as it's kind of a light version of that beer, but it's pleasant to smell and taste. Pretty much all the standard hefe qualities (citrus, clove, fruit, spicy yeast) in a toned down format.

Maybe it's the light color and flavor but I just don't like this one as much as the original or the dunkel. It does have the same flavor of malts and banana essence but it just seems to light in every other characteristic.

A pretty decent slightly above average beer. The head lasted doggone near forever - at least for the duration of the beer. Slightly carbonated, but really good.

It seems to be a little bit too carbonated to me. Great, long lasting head. Aroma is somehow irritating, feels like mixed with some kind of rotten apples or something...

Clear golden colour with huge white head. Fruity aroma. Sweet malty taste with hints of wheat. Sweet aftertaste, which doesn’t last that long. I used to like the Franziskaners, but these days I think they are a bit too sweet.

Very large stiff foamy head over a crystal clear light golden body. Constant streams of bubbles remind of glasses of champagne. Surprisingly strong (considering the filtration of the beer) clove smell and taste are present. Light esters also make themselves known as the beer warms. Not bad.

Franziskaner can't go wrong in my opinion. Sure, this was lacking the cloudy unfiltered appearance of the hefeweizen, but it sure didn't lack the yeastiness, the citrus, the bananas, and even the cloves of the standard Franziskaner hefe. The pour was golden clear yellow with bubble rising regularly to the top. The head was incredibly and lasted even through the warming to the last sip. The lacing was solid. The hay flavors did manage to come out as it warmed after 15mins or so, and the beer was just flat out drinkable. I think I prefer my weizens unfiltered, but the two kristaweizens I've had, weren't missing much outside of appearance. Great stuff (slightly thinner mouthfeel than the hefe).

a solid weisse beer...pale yellow-gold color, very light and frothy head. An herbal scent to it with hints of green banana. A very fresh taste with honey sweet malt. Grassy, hay-like flavors mingle for a bit to leave with a medium dry light yeasty finish. Pretty mild flavors here a bit watery in taste but made up for with a fuller, soft, bubbly mouthfeel.

Pours clear gold with meringue-like head and nice lacing. Smells sweet and fruity. The flavor starts out the same but has a surprisingly dry finish. Light and crisp, moderately carbonated.

Sampled from bottle. Pours a clear, pale yellow with a tall, frothy, white head. A mild, banana and clove aroma predicts the flavor with the exception of a floral hop addition. Semi-sweet, medium-bodied and well-carbonated. A well-made, yet unchallenging beer.
