This is an fine example of the style. You can smell this as soon as it's popped, charcoal and smoked ham. In a good way. This beer pours with a tan head, and is black as black. The beer was nice and thick on the tongue, but lacked in flavor. Maybe I've been drinking too much Aecht, but I like my smoked beers to tast like I'm chewing on a burnt beech limb. The lack of smoke isn't really a bad thing, it gives way to a great porter taste. An excellent brew from a great little brewery.
