The beer pours a translucent pale gold colour with a short-lived generous white head. Effervescence is high while lacing is minimal. The aroma is metallic in nature with hints of grains, herbal hops, and weak yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is surprisingly better than the aroma with notes of grass, yeast and a bitter hoppy finish. -

Can. Canadian brewed version simply knows as Pabst 5.9. Colour - very clear pale straw colour, huge white frothy head, lots of effervescence, little lacing. Aroma - stale grains, a hint of floral hops, and alcohol. Mouthfeel - slightly thin mouthfeel, well carbonated. Flavour - malt and alcohol. A little on the sweet side as a result.

Called Pabst 5.9 in Ontario, as opposed to Pabst Dry. Not bad, actually may even be better than regular PBR. Doesn't taste strong at all, just kinda tastes like...well a dry version of PBR, though it does start to get a littel annoying towards the end of the can, but the few sips that are left at that point are not enogh to mitigate a drop in rating points. Actually is there even really a pressing need for this beer? Is there some sort of Hipster demand for a stronger PBR?

It seems you can find this in Canada only. Had this in New Brunswick on the way to Nova Scotia. This was vile, and it will never be drunk again, at least not by me. It had this funky smell and taste to it, that really turned me off.

Bought this one in a single bottle at the grocery store in the Saguenay region of Quebec. Brewed by Sleeman. Pours a pale yellow colour with a decent white frothy head. Average retention with some thicker than normal lace (for a swill). Bigger bubble active carbonation. Chemical nose and taste. Rust, alcohol, garbage and a dry aftertaste. Pretty bad brew, but at least... nice lacing.
