Pours a rich gold. It has a fairly hoppy aroma and is kind of like a fresh Bitburger or a Heinekin type of beer. Fresh nobles hops and dry straw malt.

A beer produced by Old Dominion for the Hard Times Cafe chain of resturants. I had a few pints of this over the course of two days at the Herndon VA location.

While I first ordered this more out of desparation than anything else (many of their Craft beer draught selections were having draught-line problems that Sunday night), had no future misgivings about going another round or three with this Lager.

Previous reviewers have commented on the balance of this beer -- very much agreed, here. Quaffable, but not feather-light. Refreshing, but not watery. Full-flavored, but not filling. And (most importantly) this was pretty Tasty, but not mind-numbingly so....

Listed as a Macro Lager here, but I would tend to believe that this is more along the lines of an All-Malt Lager..., along the lines of some of the better Lager offerings from the likes of Victory. Very much reminded me of the Lagers that Smuttynose puts out, too. And considering I'm not a huge fan of Lagers anymore, all of those comparisons are positive things!

A well-made Lager that fits the Hard Times Cafe chain -- a quality beer, to wash down their "nationally famous" chili n' fixings. Worth a try, me'thinks.
