Really impressed by Odell's ability to harness the hop. Add to that this awesome summer sampler 12 pack with this, st lupulin, and loose leaf, a knockout for sure. Tough to pick this one over st lupulin but this is equally well made.

another wish lister, and deserved. Even while sampling a double and a "quad" ipa, this one holds its own. Grapefruit and a bit of pine, aggressive and aromatic without being very agressive. Well done.

Aroma is strongly hoppy with an underpinning of grapefruit and an evergreen hint - just like a proper IPA. Pours a clear dark amber with a thick, fluffy, palest amber head. Hoppy flavor has grapefruit and malty notes - does not quite live up to the aroma but is still acceptable and enjoyable. Smooth texture has decent, if not full, body and fizz. Not a great IPA, but still OK.

Sampled on 9/11/2010. This IPA pours a light orange gold color from a 120z bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with nice retention and good lacing. The aroma is grapefruity and floral. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are grapefruity and citrusy. Nice orange and orange peel flavors as well. Decent carbonation. A medium bitterness IPA, the bitterness tends to linger at the back of the taste. Crisp and clean. A little bit of sweetness creeps in at the finish as well. Nice IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

12 oz. bottle @ Capone's Light copper with a one-finger head which quickly settled to a coating. Lacing was thinner but present throughout. Nose was some citrus, especially grapefruit and earthy floral notes as well. Taste is lemon and grapefruit up front but the sweet malts kick in to balance this nicely. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium, a little oily, but always creamy and smooth. Finish has some moderate bitterness but never overbearing. If this were available to me commonly, it would be a go-to IPA for sure.

12 oz. bottle. Poured a hazy orange / medium amber colored ale with a two fingers slight beige creamy foamy head that had an excellent retention. Active carbonation. Great lacing. The aroma is resinous and floral hops, slight caramel malts, flowery, roses, violet, a touch of tobacco. The flavour is bready malts, floral and piney hops, flowery, roses, fruity, lychees. The balance is perfect. The hoppy bitterness level is a materialized dream. The mouthfeel is great, creamy, very smooth and very clean. This medium to full bodied ale has a lingering floral bitter finish. A plenty of tastes I.P.A. Superb !

November 2009 bottle date; Sampled August 2009
A solid pour into my large Tripel Karmeliet tulip produces a fat two-finger thick, light tan colored head. The beer is a pretty red tinged, copper color that shows a brilliantly clear, bright copper color when held up to the light. The aroma smells of pungeant hops; a mix of fruity, citrusy components and slightly dank, herbal hop notes that mix together quite well. Up front there are abundant notes of lychee, grapefruit skin oil, concentrated apricot and bright bergamot notes while the middle and finish of the aroma is more dominated by dirty hemp oil notes, herbal pine needle aromatics and really just a nice, dank hop character.Lightly sweet malt up front almost gets stripped away by the aggressive hops in the middle, but peaks out towards the finish again just before a linger, biting, herbal bitterness cleanses the palate of all malt character. There is enough malt here to carry the hops, and in fact you can actually taste some of the malt notes underneath the hop onslaught; a touch of biscuit malt character, some light caramel as well as a touch of toasted grain cracker flavors join the fleeting, clean malt sweetness. This is actually quite light bodied; in fact it almost doesn’t have enough texture to carry the hop flavors as it can seem a bit on the thin side at times. A lot of the juicy hop fruit notes of the aroma are muted here in the flavor (not enough residual malt character to accentuate these notes); these notes are still here, and they are quite noticeable though with flavors of lychee, herbal grapefruit zest notes and tangerine zest flavors. The harder hop flavors are quite evident with ample notes of pine sap, hemp oil as well as just a solid dank herbal hop component.
The aroma of this beer is just sticky with hop lupulin, unfortunately there is not quite enough body and structure to this beer so that the flavor is just a bit too unbalanced. In fact this is one of those beers that would have actually carried the hop character better if it had just a touch more residual malt character left to it. Don’t get me wrong, this beer is pretty tasty, but it is quite easy to see how I would like to improve it.

Pours a clear, light orange with a thick, fluffy white head. Aroma is excellent! Citrusy hops--orange, pineapple, grapefruit and a little sweetness. Taste is similarly fruity (in a good way) with a slightly bitter finish. Hops are evident everywhere but not overpowering. Excellent IPA, especially at $10/sixer.

Deep amber body, white frothy head. Mouthfeel is good enough, with some heft to it. Aroma of piney hops, flavor also of pine but stronger than the aroma lets on, also some malt hints, however it had a slight metallic finish which lost it a point or two.
