Pours out in a shady dark brown colour with a small off-white off-white head. Big aroma of coriander with hints of roasted malts. Full-bodied with sweetish and spicy notes of coriander, mild yeast and toffee-sauce. Warming finish of brown sugar, coriander and mild alcohol. Quite a disappointment.

Sampled on 5/14/2010. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a dark brown color with some ruby highlights from a .5l bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head with decent lacing. The aroma is fruity, caramel, raisins and banana and spices. A medium bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are dark fruits, raisins and banana. The hops are herbal. Nice carbonation. A touch sweet, but kind of expected for a dunkel styled wit. Touch of spices, orange peel, coriander and pepper. Nice smooth taste. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Aroma is hearty with faint overtones of ripened banana and dark plum with maybe some figs coming through and is very clean and inviting. The appearance is a deep mahogany to sherry in color with a large and frothy head on top that is light-tan in color and diminishes to a light and thin lacing that sticks to the glass. The mouthfeel is medium to full-bodied with decent malty complexity as well as balance with a palate that is smooth and creamy. The flavor is malty, bready, sweet, robust, as well as a bit spicy to some extent and maybe a bit nutty with an aftertaste that is of sweet malt and a finish that is robust but light, well-rounded but smooth and pretty good.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV was 10%. Cloudy brown colour, minimal head. Very moderate carbonation, like a Southern English cask ale. Vinous aroma, notes of oak and balsamic vinegar, coriander and orange peel. The flavour has notes of alcohol (not very well hidden), fortified wine, coriander (and undefined spices) and orange peel, with distinct hops throughout. Somehow the flavour elements seem not perfectly balanced. Maybe too much bitterness and alcohol crashing with the more delicate wheaty elements? Goes down well enough though.
