Beer 4 of my 12 Beers of Christmas 2012. Dark tea brown/amber pour. Medium creamy white head. Nice lacing. Malty caramel and bread aromas, some nuts and very slight fruitiness, earthy hops. Taste is malty upfront and throughout, some nuts, caramel, bread, more malts then nice hops in a dry finish. Nice and satisfying; tasty. Very cool label and name.

From Pt Roberts (WA), in a bomber. Generous, creamy tan head over a very dark brown pour. Great lacing with this one. Hard to detect any aroma, is it me? Sharp flavour, with malts, hop, and some spice. More bitter than I'd anticipated. Sweet notes to finish.

Sampled on 12/24/2010. This American Strong Ale/Altbier pours a medium brown color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is malty, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied American Strong Ale. Malts are caramel, fruity, sweet and a touch bready. The hops are earthy and herbal. Nice carbonation. There is a touch of some holiday spices perhaps. A nice Winter Warmer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Roasted coffee and chocolate malt aroma. Off white head of uneven bubbles on a dark brown beer. Full, round body. Nice malt profile with only a gentle drying in the finish. Seemed to get almost a little smoky and spicy as it warmed. Really nice, clean flavor makes it easy to drink considering the heft of the beer. While I would not say this beer is original, it is very good for what it is.

highly roasted malts and very slight spices on the nose. colored like a black lager. nice body and dry finish. was actually my least favorite of the 3 Ninkasis, but that's only cuz the others were quite good.

This is a nice dark double alt. As it is Christmas I have been sampling many brews ( my gift to me). Should have had this before the oatis stout. As my taste buds are compleatly overwelmed. Hard pour reveils a healthy head. Though to bubbly. Nose is malty with some winter spices. Nothing to realy set it apart from any other winter brews. dark brown with a 2 inch dirty white head. Nice lacing through out. Unlike some alts the malts dont overwelm the taste. Carmel, roasted malts, finishes with a slight hops bitterness. A nice brew but not the tops on this winter brews feast.
