Dragon's Milk is a 17th century term to describe strong beer usually reserved for royalty. A stout with roasty malt character intermingled with deep vanilla tones, all dancing in an oak bath.

(trade from Douglas88) - Little dusting of foam, but pretty minimal. Thick black body. Aroma of melted brown sugar and soft raisins. Flavor was a surprise. Not picking up the soft caramels the brew says are there on their website description. Flavors in my bottle are more of raisins and sour plums. Characteristics more of something I’d expect to have been aged in wine barrels. Warming in the throat after the fact. Thin body. In fact, the body is deceiving and someone could get into trouble after having a few at 10% alcohol!! Will file this one in the back of my head to trade for again sometime.

Yet another awesome bomber brought by the Kevster, Thanks again.
It has a dark brown pour and little in the way of a head. The aroma is sweet with caramelized malts, pine hop sweetness, lactose, caramel candy and alcohol. For the taste a bit of alcohol hits first then sweet malts, caramelized malts, sizable pine hop bitterness, roasted malts and hints of lactose all round out the flavor. The finish has a growing alcohol sense but not in a hot way at all. Along with that I get roasted maltiness and hints of dark fruitiness well into the finish.Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4
On tap at the Vintage Estates, thanks Nuts. Beautiful black pour, looks dee-lish wth its chocolate mousse head. Aroma is malty milky and easy going, seems very friendly and mouth watering. As far as the taste goes you’d never know this is 9%, no way. Rather strong and smooth but yet is easy to palate. Some mild creamy carbonation is apparent. Not quite as oppressive as an imp stout, but this is approaching the style. Finish is rather alky overall tho it is well controlled with personality.

Opaque black beer with a fine bubbled, brown foam. Swoops in smooth and quietly before releasing fire through your nose! The alcohol is strong in this one but it doesn't get in the way at all. Aroma and flavor were not as impressive. Oak and vanilla stand out in this fairly sweet beer.

A brownish-black beer with some ruby highlights in the light. There is a huge creamy tan head with good hang time. Nice lacing that included a thing ringlet, cap and splotchy film clinging to the glass. The heat of this beer is the first thing I notice as it rises to the nose, It’s roasty, chocolate in the nose. Nice chocolate and roasted malt stick to the tongue. Very resiny. Very thick and again, very warm.

Bourbon Barrel Stout at 11% ABV. Pours a dark copper colour with a creamy-bubbly beige head, good retention and some creamy-bubbly lacing. Dark fruit aromas with roasted malts, burnt wood, leather and hints of nuts. The flavours are more on the chocolate malt to start with, but some nice warming, well-balanced mouthfeel continues with some light sweetness from the bourbon oak barrel, also creating some vanilla in the finish. Still, lots of dark fruits. Everything is so well-blended. A very nice brew.

The beer pours a solid black colour with a half inch creamy brown cap. The aroma is roasted malt, vanilla, dark chocolate, and weak alcohol notes. The flavour is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is roasted malt, vanilla, and oak. Not my thing flavour wise.Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8
Bottle from Sam. Almost flat dark brown pour with a short beige head, some lacing. Nice whiskey, malt and molasses aromas and flavors, a bit of booze, bready and tasty. Big beer, slow sipper. Thanks Sam.
