Strong, malty aroma has firm earthy, clove and caramel tones - and I got all these even with a stuffy nose! Pours a dark, slightly hazy sepia with a fairly thick pale tan head. Luscious flavor has earthy, caramel, cloves, nutty and malty notes - very pleasing. Robust texture has a subtle but persistent fizz. A cure for cabin fever? Could be!

True to style, this is not an exciting beer but it is pretty solid. Nutty, bready, caramel malts with a touch of chocolate and earthy hop bitterness in aroma and taste--not bitter but not too sweet. Light carbonation goes well with the full body making this a pleasant sipper on cold days.

Pours straight dark brown no head. It's a little sweet for a brown, but that makes it smooth. Nutty, caramel, malty - there's a smidge of hop carbonation if you are looking for it. All around good and drinkable!

sampled 2/13/09. 12oz bottle from BeerHunter. Pours a med/dark brown with a medium tan head. good malty, caramel, coffee notes. taste is coffee with some chocolate and caramel flavors. I am not a huge fan of brown ales, but this was yummy. mouthfeel is med/full and creamy.

Opaque amber pour with a 1/2" brown head and minimum lacing. Roasted, nutty malt aroma with a hint of chocolate. Medium bodied and mildly sweet. Seems balanced enough and is a touch thin in the finish. Warm flavors of toast, nuts, and cocoa powder. Woody flavor with an abundance of crystal malt. Mildly assertive, a rather enjoyable brown ale.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pours out in a clear brown colour with a low white lace. Somewhat muddy aroma of chocolate and fudge with floral undertones. Medium-bodied and clean with notes of milky chocolate, fudge, nuts and spices. Low on hops. Chocolate, spices and biscuit in the malty finish.

I thought it could tasted like a lighter porter version than an amber beer.It poured nice, my aroma capabilities are deminished at this time ,the taste was good. Not too sweet either, overall not a bad brew. I can try this one again if want.

This really reminds me of an ESB. Very malty and and a lot of grapefruity hops in the aroma and character. Despite the dark reddish-brown color of the beer and the light reddish-tan of the head, this beer's flavor is surprisingly light Yes, it definitely malty but with the level of hops in the profile, it seems lighter that you'd expect. Not a bad beer.

Its no 8 ball, but it still gets my respect. I have a strange desire to do some ice hut fishing now.
