Saison, the original Farmhouse Ale, was the refreshing invention of thirsty Belgian farmers. Wisconsin pale barleys brewed with Grains of Paradise in this bright new copper hued ale. Deceptively approachable, its complicated fermentation incorporates a blend of three Belgian yeast strains and is fully bottle conditioned. Fresh hops snap with lemon zest and peppery ginger notes, lending to its enigmatic personality. Enjoy, as this sassy Wisconsin Saison is at its best thirst quenching drinkability now.

put it in my pocket, it didn't work out .. . hazy light yellow gold .. great foam head, lacing i s awesome .. . being liverpool? more like being rubbish .. . light spice, slick hay.. a very enjoyable saison for sure- a top selection of the thumbprint series .. . . I am sick of the Mickey Mice behind the goals.

Fine New Glarus offering courtesy of heybeerman. Straight up example of the style. Fruity citrus and a hearty dose of exotic spices. Very aromatic and inviting. Hazy gold body, 3" white head that takes it's time to settle, strong carbonation and thick lacing. Spicy, sweet then dry. I could sip on this all day long. Zesty lemon peel and citrus with a spicy pepper and yeast backbone.

Gosh. I'm torn about this. In all areas of the style, this beer is not a classic Saison type. But that's not to say it's not totally freakin delicious. It's just not very true to the style and is more like an Imperial version. Having said that, loved the taste, but it's too heavy on the spice. High in ABV, I can tell. Very wheaty. Still delish. Oh man, Oregon is changing my palate. AAAGH!

This is exactly what I think of when I think saison, light but not thin, easy to drink, a bit funky, wheaty and sessionable. Not unique but a perfect example of the style. NG works really hard to make beer true to form and that is tough to do, hope more folks get a chance to try this.

Brought to me from a local beer friend, Q, after an excursion to Wisconsin and New Glarus - I have great friends! Golden pour with a nice white head leaving adequate lacing throughout. Spicy and funky aroma - peppery, floral, yeasty, some funk, some sweet fruits, banana, Juicy Fruit gum, honeysuckle, earthiness. Complex flavors too, nice floral and funky-yeasty taste, peppery and spicy, more sweet ripe fruits and honeysuckle. Nice Saison, but what else would one expect from New Glarus. Glad Q brought me more than one!!! Super nice during this hot weather.
