STORY Hook up a plum with an apricot and they’ll make you a pluot. This sweet hybrid fruit is as refreshing as it is strange, and it’s the perfect starting point for our new Lips of Faith beer. Pluot Ale pours a bright, light golden. The aroma is full of fruit tones and distinct esters from blending the funky brettanomyces and our house Belgian ale yeast. The flavor carries the same weight, adding a spicy, vinous subtlety to stand up against the malt backbone. To build a beer around this worldly fruit is purely Belgian in imagination. Pour some Pluot and enjoy! Fruity aroma has a strong yeasty note that almost masks everything else. Pours a clear golden yellow with an average eggshell head that leaves some nice lacing. Fruity, yeasty flavor has a strange, almost sour, yeasty overtone and hints of malt and hops. Firm, smooth texture is fairly fizzy. This is a distinctive and lively beer that you should try if you like something different.

Sampled on 5/26/2014. This fruit beer pours a slightly cloudy apricot orange color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, apricots and plums, a touch of brett and some tartness. A medium bodied fruit beer. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy and floral. Decent carbonation. The apricot flavors really shine in this beer. It’s a touch tart and a touch dry. Definitely has a Belgian influence, in the yeast and the spiciness. There is also an earthiness that matches well with the apricot flavors. Not too sweet, yet very fruity. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

On tap at CLips of Faith. Golden color with short head, little lacing. Fruity aroma initial taste with light funky dry Brett presence, lots of ripe pitted fruits, pears, then light malty sweet. Interesting and sweetly flavorful.

Gift from Nichelle and Brad from a Washington trip. Great bottle, awesome psychedelic graphics. Drank in wine glass, copper and crimson transparent beer. White head. Aroma is initially very sweet/tart flavours, lots of malt and light floral hop notes. As it warms, it starts to show tons and tons of riesling wine notes like petrol and mineral. Very happy with the light sour and tart and thought it played well off of the underripe plum bitterness. Overall, good beer, but nothing to seek out. Very happy for the tasting donation.

Thicker than expected with a good dose of belgian yeast. Only slightly funky and tart from the brett with ample fruity sweetness. While it may have been even better at, say, 7-8%, this was yet another LOF beer that we all enjoyed.

Pours a clear yellow-gold with almost no head that quickly vanishes with no lacing. Aromas of pears and grape juice. There are some Belgian spice and yeast notes, but they're very subtle.Flavors of white grapes and pears, there are light spice notes and candy sugar that dont really blend well at all. Alcohol burn on the finish, medium body with low carbonation. Overall i had to pour this one out, its not up to N.B.standards,especially to the L.O.F. series, avoid.

Pours a very clear orange/amber with no head what-so-ever. This one is severely carbonated. Aroma is fruity sweet with hints of the plum/apricot that the pluot is. Taste is excessively sweet with heavy hints of malts with a slight fruity backing. Sticky to the tongue with a bitter metallic hit. Finishes off dry and metallic. Tastes like a German lager with about a drop of fruit juice that has been aged with aluminum siding. Not very good.

22 oz bottle, best by 5/2014. Pours clear yellow gold with a small fizzy white head that quickly goes to a dusting.
The aroma is sweet grains and tart fruits with some funk and a little butyric acid.
The flavor is sweet fruit juice with some tart notes and a little sourness and musty funk in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low smooth carbonation.
Overall, an interesting beer. The alcohol is well hidden but it packs a punch. It's a bit too much sweet fruits that doesn't play well with the funk. I'd have liked to see more from the brett.
