Muskoka Harvest Ale was our brewery's pioneering venture into seasonal beers. Now in its third year, our Harvest Ale marks the end of the growing season and the process of gathering mature crops from the fields. Dry hopped and brewed using a selection of premium local ingredients, this ale has a rich malt backbone and a subtle grassy character reminiscent of the freshly cut harvest. It's our way of celebrating another prosperous growing season. And we're proud to share it with you. 2010 ABV: 6.4% 2011 ABV: 6.4% 2012 ABV: 7.0%

Dark honey brown, with a tall creamy crown, has ridiculous retention. Aroma is nutty with caramel and hints of spice.....there are some pennies. Taste is the same with bitterness in the finish. Nuts, toasted malts, some dust, mild metal. More then expected hop presence but just shows up as a flavourless bitter. Pretty good but easily forgettable.

Poured a bubbly off white head, has a dark amber appearance. Heavily carbonated. Good lacing. Hops are quite apparent in the aroma. Also, the same can be said about the taste. Quite hoppy with some lighter malts and a creamy mouthfeel. Smooth going down as well. Has a good balance of cascade hops and malts, with hops maybe a bit more aggressive. Very good stuff! Too bad it's not year round!

Big brown bottle with swing-top at the LCBO. Pours a deep amber colour with a full creamy-foamy off-white head that has great retention and decent lacing. At first pour, a hay smell is what comes out of this, but after breathing a bit, the hop comes out. Nicely balanced mouthfeel between wet and dry. The hop also shows up more and more as you sip it. Well-mixed with the caramel malt base. Quite easy to drink and pretty nice overall... just a tad expensive for a 6.4% brew (as that is the price for higher alcohol content beers in the same format - and this one, not being an import). A great English Pale Ale (being less bitter than APA).

This is a pretty decent beer with a lot of colour and a good hoppy aroma. Flavour is nicely balanced with a good malt bite. Made with local ingredients!

750ml swing top bottle: Pours a deep copper ale in the glass...2 finger tight off-white cap, fair retention, moderate lacing. Aroma is gorgeous...fresh...big malts over earthy leafy hopping, some demure pear and peach fruity tones...light toastiness...light sweetness...very nice. Big front side...large malts (no caramel or crystal) in good balance with earthy hop bittering..toasty malting mingles with leafy hops in near perfect balance...back side goes clean dry and bitter. A well made ale done with local ingredients...drinks well, pairs well.

A generous drauight portion of this was not enough to make me love it. It was simply alright, a generic English ale that was refreshing, but had nothing to distinguish it from anything else. I'm beginning to think that these one off Ontariuo craft beers aren't anything special

The Beerbistro (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
November 13, 2009
The beer poured a translucent copper colour with a 1" foamy tan coloured head. The aroma was very weak and contained some hops and grassy malt. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was slightly sweet, grainy malt, with a bitter finish.
