Energy beer….yum! I know a lot of people who will tell you that this is the worst beer they’ve ever tasted. I’m not one of them…Old Milwaukee has this beat hands down, but this is still bad. Anything about Molson Canadian that is remotely redeeming, was lost with the addition of guarana. It killed the aroma and destroyed the taste. This is some bitter bitter shit!

Gross, sick, ill-tasting, vile stuff. This is a sad excuse for a beer. Colour - very pale yellow, no head. Aroma - acohol (not usually detectable in 5% beers). Mouthfeel - watery. Flavour - way off. Overall - avoid!

I was handed this beer several years ago and just came across my notes for it recently. Needless to say, I was none too impressed. Like a lot of people, I drink beer to get a buzz....not a kick.

This is exactly what I was looking for in an energy beer. Not having tasted energy beer before, I can say that I can stop looking now. Classified as a fruit beer; yet has no fruit aroma nor taste. Many times with energy "drinks" you can taste the bitterness of caffeine, this beer has a natural source of it (Guarana), and no bitter taste. Tastes like a much improved Molson Canadian. This beer delivers on its promise, it gives you a KICK, doing programming on the weekend, this beer has helped me stay up till 3 am each night to finish a rush project. A very smooth beer, and I will go and pick up another case tonight. A++

Kick comes in a 355 ml aluminum bottle, contains 3.1g essence of guarana and 57 mg of caffeine. Color is clear and yellowy, with a frothy white head. The foam doesn't last very long, but does leave some lace for the first half a glass. Smell of grain with some citrus, thought it was very similar to a Molson Canadian. Suprisingly the taste wasn't that bad. I was expecting something something worse. Again quite similar to a conventional macro lager. There was more fruity citrus flavors with a sharp tang finish, but there was not the sweet berry flavor from other guarana flavored beers. Actually quite refreshing. Thin body which did make it easy to drink. Didn't really feel any aftereaffects of the caffeine.

As far as I can tell, this is Molson Canadian in a different bottle! Pours a golden colour with some small head. Horrible skunky aroma, with a slightly better flavour of mild sweetness at first followed by some minor bitterness. Very thin, but still quite smooth. Somewhat more carbonated than a Canadian.

Sampled from their brown bottles, and not from their aluminium bottles. Pours a yellow colour with a foamy head, and decent lasting too. Carbonation is very active, but no lacing. The nose is slightly malty, but mostly composed of alcohol. Almost, mild malt liquor scent. Little bitterness in the start, but goes to a heavy corn finish. The guarana fruit is hardly tasted anywhere. Maybe a very tiny small note in the late aftertaste. Because of that, not really a fruit beer. It's direct competition is on the other hand is. Rare do I prefer a Labatt product over Molson, but Shok is better. This Molson Kick is recommended to regular Molson beer drinkers, but at the beginning of the night.

5's all around because I can't give it any thing average or sbove because I have a hard time classifying this as a beer. Its basically for people to drink before the bar so they can stay up until 5AM.

Not a horrible beer actually. It's not the best tasting because you actually can taste the coffie beans in this lager, but the best thing about this drink is it actually does deliver for someone who cant stay up all night and drink with the guys, I drink it before 7am shifts. no big deal
