Re-rate, 6/07: A better showing this time around, banana malty base, yet full of clovey spices in the finish. Sweet and malty for sure, and at 5.9pct ABV, this was more like a higher octane Franziskaner than a sessionable Hefe. Flavor profile fairly good, a touch too sweet, certainly no American hop profiles detected this time around. Original rating: Ok, not a bad one, but boy, this wasn't the traditional hefe. Poured a cloudy pale yellow color with a modest but not impressive head. The flavor improved as it warmed, revealing a nice banana and clove-like profile. However, the hops used kinda turned me off (American?) and the beer wasn't up there with the best of its style.
