Modern Monks Smoked Bock is an inspired version of a traditional German Maibock. As the winter drew to a close and brewers anticipated the coming of spring a strong pale lager was produced. Maibock, so named for the month of May was drank in celebration of spring. Our smoked version uses a healthy portion of German Rauch or smoked malt resulting in an assertive but very drinkable beer.
