There is not a lot to say about this beer that is good, not for me anyway. The beer is a nice light gold colour that is reminiscent of American lagers. There is no discernable smell to speak of nor is there any discernable taste. The mouthfeel is very watery with hints of carbonation. Overall this is not a beer that I would try again, nor is it a beer that I would recommend to others.. It gets a 3 overall simply because they had the Bottom Bottle Opener at one time. Unfortunately the case we got contained bottles that had obviously been used many times before because the glass around the opener had been well chipped/worn away meaning that we needed the bottle opener anyway.

There isn’t a whole lot to say about this beer, and what little there is, is not in favour of the beer. What does it look like? It looks like water with a hint of yellow food colouring. What does it smell like? It smells like barley, corn, and stomach acid. What does it taste like? Wretched is the word, it tastes wretched.

Picked up a tallboy at LCBO. Pours a massive foamy white head that sticks around for quite awhile and has a straw coloured appearance. Big thick dirty lacing. Aromas of grains, grass and subtle wheats. Flavours are sweet malt, grains, herbal and grassy notes. Somewhat excessive carbonation. Dry finish. Fairly bland overall but not as bad as expected.

Has a good head, and the lacing is B+...Taste is decent for a pale lager, but it on the lower end of lagers...ok on a hot day . It has a disgusting taste that only gets worse, and it has a terrible after taste to boot, but it is on the cheaper side of the spectrum.

I just brought home a 30 rack of MHL. First time I've done so for a while...Genesee Cream Ale and Extra Gold Lager are cheaper than MHL at the local Wally World. :D Remember...MHL was rated Good-but-bland by Consumer Reports years ago. That is to say, it was a benchmark product for the American Mass Market Macroswill category. And it's less expensive than the allmighty Bud. What's not to like?

Pours a crystal clear yellow with a small foamy white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy patches of lace form around the glass on the drink down. The aroma is of grain, corn flakes, and some sugar-like aromas. The taste is of grain and sweetened corn flakes. The mouthfeel has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp finish.

This beer is very true to the style of American Macro-brew. Very light color and body, smells of stale malt and almost no hops. Taste is again very malty with a little yeast but almost no hops.

April 2009 - Actually, the guy below me has the perfect review. The pour is pale yellow, so clear it serves as a pretty good magnifying glass. A fair sized white frothy head. Grainy and corniful. The beer has only a slight bite when ice cold (yes, it’s better ice cold) and gets syrupy and sweet when warming even a little. I’m glad I got the 24 oz instead of the 40!

One of the better pale American lagers. Aroma and taste are, like most BMC products, almost nonexistent. The lighter carbonation and smoother mouthfeel make this beer stick out more than most pale lagers. As long as it is cold and cheap, I won't turn a High Life away.
