Slightly hazed, dark copper colour with caramel-amber highlights. The head looks like a coffee head - frothy, lightly bubbled, warm-yellowish mocha-coloured. A ring is left, so some lacing is seen as it goes down. A little boozy in the nose with dark fruits and caramel notes. Hints of smoked barley eventually comes out. The mouthfeel is slick, mildly sticking, but with a nice drying finish. The dates and figs really lingers nicely with some blending bitterness and a slight warmth, as the alcohol is well-hidden in the mouth. A nice caramel malt base, but not overly sweet. A touch of raisins. This is going down very nicely for a Quad, with the balanced dark fruits.
