Originally brewed by Mikkeller, Denmark. Recent batch brewed by Mikkeller at De Proef Brouwerij, Lochristi-Hijfte, Belgium. The third in the series of single hop IPAs from Mikkeller. Brewed with Cascade, a true American classic hop type. This hop is less powerful than the ones used in the previous two single hop IPAs - creating a great balance with the beers other aspects. Ingredients : Water, malts (pilsner, cara-crystal and munich), hops (cascade) and yeast.

Pours a hazy and barely translucent dark coppery brown with a thick, frothy and rather persistent pale tan head. Aroma is more yeasty than hoppy, and has malty, earthy and fruity hints. Flavor has hoppy, malty and yeasty tones with nutty and earthy hints and just a touch of fruity sweetness. Full-bodied texture has a strong tingle that leaves behind a pleasant hoppy and woody fizz.

2011 batch, only 38 ibus. i thought this would be among my favorites. while it was pleasant, it ended up in the bottom third (of the first half). more spicy than floral, with lighter than expected citrus notes.

Sampled on 4/19/2010. This IPA pours a orange gold color from a 33cl bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel malt and grapefruit hops. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are caramel and fruity. The hops are grapefruity. Lively carbonation. The bitterness is very sharp and clean. Nice balance. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is bitter.

330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.9%. Deep golden to orange colour, big and lasting off-white head. Lovely aroma of Cascade hops, with the typical grapefruity and piney notes. The flavour is again typical Cascade (in plentiful quantities) from start to finish, lots of grapefruit, pine needles and resin. A nearly Campari-like (wormwood) bitterness in the finish. Some malty sweetness does its best to balance some of the hoppiness. Has enough hops to satisfy hardcore hopheads - I would have been satisfied with less, even though I love Cascade.

Poured a hazy amber-orange color with a very generous off-white colored head, great lacing all the away down, excellent retention, a very nice looking IPA. Nice strong citrus, piney hops. Flavor followed the aroma with orangey malts seemingly underneath the citrus and piney hops, finishing with a strong bitter element with some spicey hop zing with even a touch of healthy good teabags (the very rare ipa with tea bags that were very good, not detracting from the brew or just distracting w.r.t. the overall experience). A fun brew, mouthfeel was highly carbonated, very invigorating on the tongue. Surprisingly lots of flavor going on, despite the single-hoppedness.
