Pours a big frothy tan head and has a hazy brown appearance. Lacing is ok. Aromas of bread, roasty malts, resin hops, raisins. Flavours are mostly roasted malts, notes of earthy and resin hops, fairly strong raisins notes. Has a bit of a yeasty finish. Some brown sugar becomes a bit more noticeable the longer it sits. Full body, thin oily feel. lively carbonation. Finish is a bit bitter and astringent. Good stuff!

B.B.D. (best before date) is 25/06/20 written on top of black cap. Pours a hazy copper colour with amber highlights. The head is big, beige, frothy, long lasting and leaves creamy-foamy thick lacing. Aromas of many dark fruits, roasted malts, nutty malts (or yeast) and hops. Something is different though and can be felt more in the taste. Kind of vinous. Sweet grape juices with a little vinegar. Nutty notes again, with some milder dark fruits. Alcohol is present as well. An interesting Quad, but not one I would have again.

Queen's Quay LCBO Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
    November 20, 2014
Part of the 2014 Mikkeller feature at the LCBO. The beer poured a dark reddish brown with a tan coloured head. The aroma is roasted malt, yeast and grains. The mouthfeel is full bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour is dark roasted malt, floral hops, and dark fruits. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Lot of dark fruits and yeast in the mouthfeel A good beer. I can only think that the barrel aged versions are better, but this is very good..
