Excellent Imperial Porter. Robust flavour with dark chocolate dominating. Aroma of cocoa and booze. Full bodied. If you see it don't pass it by. Yummm.

Pours a huge thick frothy, creamy beige head that stays for a while and settles to a nice inch of thickness. Almost pitch black appearance. Aromas of chocolate, mocha, and coffee with subtle hints of caramel and toffee. Alcohol is fairly noticeable with flavours of dark chocolate, roasted malts, more toffee and mocha as well as earthy and resin hop notes. Slick and creamy sensation with a chalky and mildly warming mouthfeel. Very good porter, smooth and easy drinking brew.

Single at the LCBO with a label that says "Mindst holdbar til 08-04-2015". Pours a real dark brown with no highlights that I can see. Big creamy light-brown head with great retention. The aromas are full of dark fruits at first (prunes, plums) but after breathing, chocolate come out with hints of vanilla. Oily and a little creamy mouthfeel with no burning. The dark fruits in the taste are well-blended with the roasted malts, coffee and even burnt wood, giving a smokey finish. A pretty well-brewed Imperial Porter.

The beer pours a solid black colour with a generous brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, licorice, and coffee. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, creamy, with average carbonation. Flavour is molasses, roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee. Very rich, but still very good. -

Bottle: Pours a sinful black with a massive lofty mocha-colored cap that stacks out of the glass. Aroma licorice, coffee, cocoa, dates, some sweetness and mustiness. This drinks like a robust porter with all the porter character but with rich mouth feel and some unexpected smoothness. For such a big ale it’s quite drinkable - well put together brew, and for the price on my buy list.

Bottle, at Cardinal’s Ølsymposium. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Lovely and well rounded aroma and flavour with all the typical robust porter porter qualities, but the roastiness is not overdone. Smooth and nicely balanced. Will give a more detailed review on the next occasion.
