Now here is an interesting and relatively cheap domestic. If you are looking for the cheapest beer you can buy that doesn’t taste like you’re “Suckling from Satan’s rancid teat” then this is surly one to consider. It has the bonus of being available in most of the common venues (convince stores, gas stations, etc…) that you’ll find Satan’s rancid stock.

At 5.2%, this has to be the weakest ‘bock’ ever. The beer pours a clear dark gold color with reddish hues (I guess that is amber in A-B parlance). The cap is white, frothy, and disappears in seconds. Aroma is grains, acid, and noble hops. Mouthfeel is weak and watery. Flavor is non-existent. It is a very grain forward malty lager with nothing to distinguish it from other mass produced swill. Even a hint of caramel wold have been a nice touch for an ‘amber’ beer

Drank this out of the bottle in a dark bar so I can't honesty rate the appearance. The aroma was extremely plain. The mouthfeel was very thin. The best way I can describe this beer is it's wet and almost taste like something.

Clear copper yellow with small off-white foam ring. Aroma is bit malty, bit caramel. Taste is bit sweet, caramel and watery. Short lasting aftertaste. (Houston 201306)

Amazing! At a local restaurant, the waitress served our beers and we couldn't tell which was this amber bock, which was the Bud Light, which was the Coors Light, since all were in brown glasses. We all just tasted everything. Just laughing at how everything tasted the same, I bought a six-pack of Amber Bock later in the week. It really does taste just like every other commercial grade lager out there. Bud Light is like a half-sister to this. Aside from the WOW! amber color, this is just a commercial lager. When I can walk into a hobo-friendly convenience store and buy 2 24oz cans of Bud Light for $4.50, I can't see paying a higher price for Michelob Amber Bock in a brown bottle with some lame dude's signature embossed on it. Average beer needs to be priced averagely. Fail, big time. But, if you have to drink it, it's really OK. Not a skunky beer, it's in a brown bottle! Why this beer exists is beyond me, though. Just doesn't do it when Bud Light clearly dominates the arena of a bar beer, and a basic let's-just-get-drunk beer. Maybe this is a foo-foo sophisticated beer like the old Zima? Har har! Shiver me timbers.

Pours clear dark amber with a small tanish head with a little lacing. The aroma has the disappointing smell of being watered down. Some red malts but is also very sweet and kinda skunky smelling. The taste has a sugary sweet creaminess, very sugary, no hops whatsoever. The mouthfeel is like highly carbonated water and doesn't leave behind much behind but a sugary taste. Over all perhaps the best beer I've had to date from AB but then again thats not saying much!

$4.75 for 16 oz draft at Pepper Market, Coronado Resort, Disney World. Reddish brown with a creamy tan head. Great lace. Clear body has yellow highlights. Mild aroma, by my standards. Mild is fine sometimes. Definitely felt the alcohol. I must've been too hungry and thirsty when I slurped this one. Thin, watery body may have helped it go down fast, too. Finishes a bit too dry. Looks great, but--as the saying goes--all hat and no cattle.

Mahogony pour with an off white head that didn't last very long. Minimal caramel taste with malty aroma. Wouldn't go out of my way to order or avoid it.

This beer is an American-style bock beer. A rich, malty and smooth taste that is hearty and full-bodied, yet finishes cleanly. I enjoy this in the summer while bbqing! One of the only Anheuser-Busch products that I buy regularly.

It pours a dark brown/mahogany with thin light-tan head and some lace. A fresh aroma of caramel malts, hops, brown sugar, light molasses, citrus, and light spices. The mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Flavors of roasted caramel malts, light hops, citrus, and mild spice. Good at first, but gets watery fast.

This was actully the best beer I ever tasted until I found the smaller brewers. It isn't a bad beer, but for a bock, it is way too light. It taste like someone took a good bock and watered it down.
