Style guidlines aside, this isn't a bad beer -- just a bit of a let-down after the tasty Mauna Kea Pale Ale. Seems to try too hard to walk the line between Macro-friendly schwill and a quality Craft Beer, with rather indifferent results, overall.
Adequate appearence, but yet another Hawaiian beer with a rather muted hop aroma profile. Wanna bet that there aren't going to be too many hops in the flavor profile, too?
Bingo -- only a very basic amount of bitterness to keep this from being overally sweet and unbalanced..., but not much more than that. As such, I guess the brewers are angeling this beer for the fun-in-the-sun crowd, since this would be called something of a Summer Beer back on The Mainland, I suppose.
But this really could have been a little more interesting, me'thinks. Quaffable, yes, but I wouldn't call this all that satisfying, overall.
