a clear, golden amber pour with tan head and slight lacing. There is a slight smokiness, not to be compared with a Rauchbier, and a hint of sweetness, like a good southern whisky would impart. Mellow, yet somewhat astringent. I may modify this review later on. Being under the weather, my senses are altered. But it seems to be an acceptable and unusual brew if you just want a hint of smoke. Not my type. If I'm going to have something of this type, I want it bold. Otherwise, I will drink a quality pils.
